We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer to join our team with a focus on building software products for intensive care patients and clinicians.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a software developer in an industrial environment.
• Proven experience in the full software development lifecycle—from initial concept to market-ready, tested, and maintainable code.
• Pragmatic approach to technical decision-making, with a focus on clear objectives, avoiding scope creep, and meeting deadlines.
• Strong understanding of the distinctions between specification, algorithm, and implementation.
• Clear and structured communication of ideas, results, and challenges.
• Experience in mentoring and providing technical support to junior developers.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and workflows.
• Excellent knowledge of Python, Java, Groovy, and databases; ideally, also experience with Django and machine learning libraries.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• German language proficiency at C2 level.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of the central Mona backend system, ensuring smooth integration of patient data storage and processing with other Clinomic product solutions.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including requirements engineering, system architecture, frontend, QA, DevOps, and interoperability, to implement requirements and designs into high-performance, reliable, and maintainable backend code.
• Coordinate with external technical partners to integrate their systems into the Mona ecosystem.
• Create and maintain backend documentation, including design specifications for data structures, algorithms, external components, and code documentation.
• Design and implement REST, WebSocket, and FHIR APIs to connect Mona terminals and other components to the backend.
• Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues—primarily, but not exclusively, within the backend team.
• Ensure high-quality code and product standards through established best practices, including specification reviews, unit tests, code reviews, and technical walkthroughs.
